Collection: Pressing Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Your Workspace
To ensure a smooth DTF transfer process, start by setting up your workspace properly:
- Clean the Heat Press: Make sure the heat press is clean and free from any dirt or leftover material.
- Set the Temperature: Adjust the heat press temperature to between 300°F-320°F (160°C). This range is generally effective for most DTF transfers.
- Preheat the Press: Preheat your heat press for a few seconds before placing your transfer, ensuring even heat distribution.
Step 2: Prepare Your Garment
Get your garment ready for the DTF transfer:
- Select the Garment: Choose the garment that you want to apply the DTF transfer to.
- Pre-Press the Garment: Press the garment for a few seconds to eliminate moisture and wrinkles, creating a smooth surface for the transfer.
Step 3: Position the DTF Transfer
Once the garment is ready, it's time to place the DTF transfer:
- Remove the Backing: Carefully peel off the backing from your DTF transfer sheet.
- Place the Transfer: Position the transfer on the garment exactly where you want the design to appear.
- Cover the Transfer: Protect the transfer with a Teflon sheet or parchment paper to avoid direct contact with the heat press.
Step 4: Apply the Transfer
Now you’re ready to press the transfer onto your garment:
- Press the Transfer: Apply medium pressure for 12-15 seconds to transfer the design onto the garment.
- Cooling: Set aside the shirt and let it cool down for 15-20 seconds. Use a air blower to speed up the process
- Peel Off the Transfer: Remove the transfer sheet when the transfer has cooled down
Step 5: Finish the Garment
Final touches are essential for a lasting result:
- Repressing: Place the shirt on the heat press again and press for 7-10 seconds for a blended matte finish
- Check the Transfer: Inspect the design to ensure it's fully adhered to the garment.
- Washing Instructions: Wash the garment inside out in cold water and hang it to dry. This will help maintain the quality and longevity of the print.
