Collection: Art/File Requirements

1. Accepted File Formats

  • Recommended File Types: PNG (300 DPI), AI, PSD, PDF, EPS.
  • Notes:
    • Ensure files are saved in one of the accepted formats before uploading.
    • If you do not want the background to be printed, make sure to remove it or send the file with a transparent background. We will print exactly what you upload.

2. File Quality and Size

  • Resolution: 150 – 900 DPI.
  • File Size: Send your artwork at the exact dimensions you want it printed. We will not resize or modify your artwork. For example, if you choose a 22"x12" sheet but upload a 10"x10" image, we will print it as 10"x10".
  • Gang Sheet Maximum Width: 22 inches (length as selected during checkout).
  • Artwork Services: If you need assistance with sizing or modifications, artwork services are available for an additional fee.

3. Color Requirements

  • Color Mode: All artwork must be in CMYK format. If you send artwork in RGB, we will convert it to CMYK, which may cause color discrepancies. We are not responsible for color variations due to this conversion.
  • Spot Colors: Any spot color artwork will be converted to CMYK.
  • White Areas: For areas to print in white, ensure these areas are clearly marked as white in your artwork.
  • Background Removal: Please remove any unwanted backgrounds or colors. If a background is present in the file, it will be printed.

4. Text and Outlines

  • Text Conversion: For vector files, convert all text to outlines or curves to avoid font issues. If not done, fonts may default to unintended options.
  • Raster Files: For raster files, ensure the artwork is at least 300 DPI at the desired print size for clear results. Low-resolution files will trigger a warning, indicating potential quality issues.
  • Minimum Line Weight: Positive and negative space, as well as outlines, should be at least 2pts thick to ensure proper printing. For smaller details, we recommend a minimum thickness of 0.5pt for better adhesion.

5. Line Weights and Detail Recommendations

  • Minimum Line Thickness: Print areas should be at least 0.5pt thick to ensure proper adhesion. Details thinner than this may not adhere well.
  • Text Size: Wording can be as small as 6pt if a bold font is used. We can print smaller, but legibility may be compromised.
  • Spacing Between Images: Leave at least 0.5" between designs to allow for easy cutting and separation.

6. Design Restrictions

  • Avoid using the following in your designs as they may not print or adhere properly:
    • Glow effects.
    • Transparency gradients or opacity effects.
    • Very fine details or small text that is not bold.
  • Tip: For fine details, add a stroke to make them thicker. Gradients should have larger dots to avoid appearing as a solid gray area. Consider using DTG (Direct to Garment) printing for complex gradients.

7. Final Check

  • Review Before Sending: We do not review files individually. Ensure your file meets all requirements, is free of unwanted elements, and is ready to print as submitted.
  • Order Cancellation: If your artwork does not meet the requirements, we may need to cancel your order.

By adhering to these guidelines, you can ensure high-quality, vibrant, and durable prints for your custom DTF transfers. If you have any questions or need assistance with your artwork, feel free to reach out for support!
